CURIOSITY is one of the most ignored words in the world of Learning!
I am curious about curiosity. Here is a 4 1/2 minute podcast and a few thoughts about Curiosity & Learning:
I learn best when I am curious.
I learn the least when I am not curious.
Curiosity happens when the learner wants to know how to do something.
Curiosity reflects their wonder, need, requirement, desire or fascination for answers to THEIR question.
Curiosity drives, empowers and projects the learner to consume and process the information in the planned learning activity.
Warning: Learners (including you) are rarely curious because the learning objective is to learn the new content.
Let’s get CURIOUS about CURIOSITY!
Yours in learning,
I love Madeline Hunter's approach to learning. love her lesson planning guide, she influences the way I approach content development in adult learning, one thing that carried with me when I left K-8 teaching.
