REDESIGN Spaces for Engagement!
As you may know, MASIE Productions is producer of over 40 Broadway shows. And, theater - like learning - takes place in spaces (real and sometimes virtual). The challenge and opportunity now is to re-think the design of the spaces to be ENGAGING and DIFFERENT for a changing generation and time in history.
“Here Lies Love” is the latest show where we are part of the producing team. Take a look at this short video as the Broadway theater is being TOTALLY Redesigned right now for high engagement:
All of the orchestra seats have been removed and the total theater will feel and be different for the audiences. Here Lies Love is a groundbreaking musical about former Filipina First Lady Imelda Marcos’s astonishing rise to power and subsequent fall at the hands of the Philippine People Power Revolution. From the minds of David Byrne (Academy Award®, Grammy® Award, and Tony Award® winner) and Fatboy Slim (Grammy Award winner), Here Lies Love has been called “ingenious” by The New York Times and “an ecstatic and dynamic party” by Time Out New York.

Let’s think about other spaces, from Learning to Worship to Shopping, where we could redesign for more engagement and energy!
I can imaging a very different “classroom” where the space resembles the workplace rather than a school space. Let’s experiment with new spaces - investing in evolving ways we will approach experiences.
And, even to imagine how we add AI and Augmented Technology to create spaces that are more interactive, challenging, engaging and personalized. Hmmmm.
